Carter Enterprises, Inc. began in 1993 when brothers Cal and Jack Carter
formed a partnership and started building small construction projects in
southeastern Utah. When it became evident that the economy in southeastern
Utah would not be accelerating at a pace to allow a company to expand, the
Carter Brothers relocated to southwestern Utah in Cedar City. This move
proved to be a stepping stone to bigger and better things.
Now in its second generation, under the leadership of brothers Curtis &
Chad Carter, Carter Enterprises, Inc. is an industry leader covering the
geographic areas of southern Utah and northern Arizona. With expertise and
experience of over fifty years in the contracting business, Carter
Enterprises, Inc. is a diversified builder in remodeling and new
construction of educational, industrial, manufacturing, retail/shopping
buildings, office complexes, civil bridgework and custom homes.
DESCRIPTION
The concept is that of a lodge design to capture the feeling of the early
days of the National Park area. The design includes concrete roof tiles
and a wood and stone exterior. The most unusual feature may well be the
large lobby with a fireplace and murals depicting the character of the
area. The vast windows have been designed to showcase the surrounding
mountains. The lobby will be available to all as it is on the unsecured
side of the terminal. The 15,000 square foot terminal will provide space
for airline service and car rental agencies.
“It will be among the finest buildings in southern Utah and it will
present a grand and comfortable welcome to all those who fly into our
city,” said Mayor Gerald R. Sherratt.
